What is Harvest?

Harvest is a venture builder and innovation platform. Our programs help startups grow and scale by bridging the skills, talent, and funding gaps that tech companies across the Prairies often face throughout the startup lifecycle.

What programs and services does Harvest offer?

Harvest offers two programs. Our Venture Builder program connects founders, partners, and investors to build new companies. Our services include innovation and finance strategy, founder search, recruitment and talent management, as well as brand and go-to-market strategy.
Within our Growth Program, we work with startups to grow and scale their businesses. We provide consultative services in the areas of growth marketing, talent management and recruitment, finance and fundraising support.

Can Harvest help fund my business?

Within our portfolio of co-build ventures, as well as for external growth services clients, Harvest's fundraising experts support in pitch deck development, cap table and financial modeling, grant writing, attracting investors and helping companies secure funding.

What is Harvest’s approach to Venture Building?

Working closely with founding teams, Harvest provides a range of expertise and services throughout the startup lifecycle, including innovation and finance strategy, marketing, recruitment, and fundraising support.

How many new companies does Harvest help build?

While Harvest helps co-build a limited number of new ventures each year, our team also engages with businesses through our Growth Program, primarily seed-stage to Series A startups and beyond.

Do all new ventures that work with Harvest have to be within a specific industry?

Harvest is currently prioritizing its venture build portfolios within financial technology, including wealth management, insurance, and real-estate.

Can Harvest help develop my MVP?

Not at this time. Our focus remains on market opportunity identification, business and financial modeling, founder search and recruitment (including CTO, product managers, and technical talent), marketing, and fundraising support.

What stage should my startup be in order to qualify?

Harvest works with a variety of startups across different stages of maturity, including early-stage through to growth and maturity.

What services are included?

Once we assess your company's current state, we get to work on your customized growth strategy. Harvest provides world-class expertise and consultative services in the areas of marketing, talent management and recruitment, and finance and fundraising. We also leverage our extended partner network to bring in additional expertise in specialized areas where needed.

What's the cost of Harvest’s Growth Program?

Harvest provides customized growth strategies to fit within your company's budget.

Is there a minimum engagement length?

Harvest typically engages with companies for a minimum of 3 months, though offers shorter engagements for recruitment services.

Do you have to be in a certain industry to qualify?

Not at all. Harvest works with businesses from all industries with a focus on technology-forward ventures.

Does my company need to be located in Calgary to work with Harvest?

Harvest works with start-ups from across the Canadian Prairies, including Saskatchewan and Manitoba. You don’t need to be head-quartered in Alberta to participate in Harvest’s Growth Program.

Does Harvest require equity in the companies we work with in the Growth Program?

Not at all. When we work with external founders and startup teams, providing a range of growth services, Harvest has a flexible pricing model, including monthly retainers and fees for services.
